Ladbrokes Merger Heralds in largest British bookmaker
Ladbrokes and Gala Coral Merger

According to sources at the Guardian, Ladbrokes and Gala Coral have merged creating a gambling giant. Ladbrokes have been struggling to catch up with their rivals William Hill since the online casinos emerged in the market. They will be listed on the London stock exchange and will be called Ladbrokes Coral. This merger will create 4,000 betting shops, which will make them the largest British bookmaker!
They are not only an online casino but cater for sports enthusiasts from all over the world offering extensive coverage of the European Football League, where you have betting options for every match. In May of this year they signed a 2 year deal with the Scottish Professional Football League as their sponsor, giving them the rights across all four leagues and 42 clubs. The deal is the biggest ever of its kind in Scottish football.
Earlier this year Ladbrokes also sponsored the Australian A-League football club Brisbane Roar in a one off deal: Ladbrokes logo will be on the front of the clubs jerseys during the match on March 17. They will continue to support the club in a different capacity for the 2025-16 campaign.
Over the years Ladbrokes have sponsored Snooker and The Grant Holt Racing Club for Greyhound Racing.
They recently sponsored Rugby Football League's Challenge Cup, extended its backing of horse racing's St Leger Festival at Doncaster and continues to sponsor The Ladbrokes World Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
Ladbrokes have an ancient history of betting dating back to the 1800 in particular horse racing, it started at the St. Leger, the oldest Classic in the world where the English love of betting and wagering started to become an integral aspect of the English heritage. A partnership was formed in 1886 between Messrs Schwind and Pennington as commission agents – backing horses trained by Pennington at Ladbroke Hall. This was the start of Ladbrokes who have gone from strength to strength.
Ladbrokes are well known for giving the best odds in horse racing a long time tradition.
